Bomber Command    
 

Join us at the Petwood Hotel, Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire for a 'Dambusters/Bomber Command Weekend'. This historic hotel was used by 617 Squadron as an Officers' Mess and provides a unique and atmospheric location.

The itinerary for the weekend is:

Friday Oct 24
1200 Visit to Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, RAF Conningsby
1700 Presentation - 'Bomber Command airfields and aircraft'
2000 Dinner

Saturday Oct 25
0930 Presentation - 'Men Behind the Medals - Bomber Command awards'
1130 Visit to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby and view Lancaster NX661, including a taxi run
1500 Visit to Thorpe Camp or Metheringham Airfield (tbc)
1730 Presentation - 'The Dams Raid' (Jim Shortland)
2000 Dinner

Sunday Oct 26
0930 Presentation (tbc)
1100 Tour of Woodhall Spa Airfield

The programme is subject to change as we have yet to confirm some of the venues and speakers. All events, such as the Lancaster taxi run, are subject to serviceability and operational constraints

Availabilty:
The tremendous response to the Dambusters Weekend announced in our Bomber Command Special has meant that the places filled very quickly!

However, we have decided to lay on a second weekend with the same programme (subject to confirmation of speakers and other activities).

This will take place on Fri-Sun March 12-14, 2004 (the nights of 12th and 13th).
