It’s one of the busiest weekends of the year for the Hornby Magazine team as GETS – The Great Electric Train Show – rolls in to Milton Keynes.
The event moved to the Bedfordshire town’s prestigious Marshall Arena last year having outgrown its former home at the British Motor Museum. And in increasing capacity for both visitors and attractions, the move has underlined the event one of the top model rail shows in the calendar.
With more than 30 of the best layouts in the UK on display and almost as many retailers and manufacturers in attendance, the event completely fills the 3,400m2 floor space and advance ticket sales were well ahead of 2018 levels.
“I’m really proud of the event,” said Hornby Magazine editor, Mike Wild. “anyone that loves model railways will love the show.”
“We’ve got more than 30 layouts on display and some of the best trade stands in model rail. It’s one of the best shows of the year.”
Advance ticket sales have now closed but tickets are available on the door priced at £12 for adults, £9 for children and £34 for a family ticket on Saturday while up to two children will be admitted free with each paying adult on Sunday.
The event is open from 10am until 5pm on Saturday with the doors closing an hour earlier on Sunday. A free shuttle bus runs between Milton Keynes Station and the event venue for the duration of the show and free parking is available on site.
