COVID-19: Key response

Throughout the extraordinary events that are unfolding as a result of Coronavirus (COVID-19), we will, as a business, continue to put our most important assets first: our staff and our customers. I would like to take a moment to update you on Key’s response and measures taken thus far:

Our family of colleagues have been working hard for the past few weeks, taking a proactive and practical approach to events as they unfold so we can mitigate risk to one another and reduce impact on our customers. We have closed the office and the majority of our staff will now be carrying out their duties from home.

We have taken the decision to postpone the immediate Modern Railways events (Rail in Wales and the West conference on 27th March, the Rail in the North conference on 30th April and the Railway Industry Innovation Awards on 26th June) until the autumn. New dates are being arranged now.

We are also sorry to say that the Classic Land Rover team has no option but to postpone the 2020 CLR Gathering and rather than try and reschedule it this year while things are still so uncertain, we have rescheduled it for May 22-23, 2021. We will keep an ongoing review of other events in our calendar and communicate any further decisions as we make them.

We are keeping a continuous, close eye on any impact to the delivery of our magazines (see here for the latest updates) and will take steps to ensure minimal disruption and, where appropriate and necessary, digital alternatives for our subscribers. If you can’t get to shops, remember we can send you issues digitally via our online shop.

Our first-rate editorial, design and production teams are confident we can keep producing our very full schedule of magazines, specials and books.

Meanwhile, we are ramping up our digital development efforts to enable direct access to content at the earliest opportunity. We have already launched Key.Aero, a comprehensive collection of our aviation content, and made it available to subscribers. And we will be looking to launch similar online access to our model rail and plastic modelling, military and modern rail content, to our audiences in the very near future.
